APP & Checkout
Our Cash Register App works with both Apple and Android devices. Just click on the menu above to download the app, making the checkout process fast and easy. Simply tap the button on the app that corresponds to the Price Code on each item, and the app will automatically calculate the total. Use the app for all cash, gift certificate, and credit card purchases; treat them the same during checkout.
Here’s how it works:
Log-In: Enter your Holiday Shop PIN Code, which can be found in the emails we’ve sent you or on the cover letter in your “Chairperson Materials Kit.” An internet connection is needed for initial login, but the app can function with or without an internet connection afterward. Credit card transactions require an internet connection.
Settings: Your profit margin of 0%, 10%, or 20% is automatically set based on your contract. If you’re using “Custom Pricing,” program your pricing in the Chairperson Portal, and the app will sync with these prices.
Checking Out Students: It’s as easy as 1,2,3:
- Press the “Number/Code” button on the App matching the “Number/Code” on the bottom of the gifts.
- Press the “Total” button to calculate the sale.
- Press the “Cash Exact Change” button to complete the sale, or use “Cash Make Change” to calculate change, or select “Credit Card Payment” if that’s the payment method. It’s that simple!
Credit Card Processing: Available on both Apple and Android devices, perfect for night, weekend, or volunteer sales. All credit card purchases are automatically recorded as a credit on your invoice. To process a credit card payment, enter the card details, and the customer can receive a text message with a transaction receipt. Note: An internet connection is required for credit card transactions.
Profit: When your school signed up, you chose a profit margin (0%, 10%, or 20%). This choice determines the prices of items and is reflected on the pre-priced tent cards and in the cash register app. Selecting 0% or 10% is ideal for service projects to keep prices low, while 20% is popular for fundraisers.
Pre-Coded Gifts: Over 90% of our merchandise is pre-coded with a number printed on it, corresponding to the retail price point. This eliminates the need to memorize prices. The coding aligns with your chosen profit margin and syncs with our cash register app, making checkout faster and simpler.
Why Use the App: In the past, schools used cash registers, resulting in long lines and slower checkouts. Nowadays, our app, along with a cash box and a few volunteers, can process students three times faster, streamlining the shopping experience. Cash registers are still available but are used by very few schools today.
