Customize and Share Your Parent Website
You can easily personalize your Parent Website to make it your own. Everything you need is located under “Parent Website” in the Chairperson Portal. Each section helps you share accurate details and enhance your event page.
1. Your School’s Unique URL
Each school has its own personalized link (e.g., myschool.holidayshop.org/schoolname). Share this link with parents, students, teachers, and volunteers to ensure that gift certificate purchases are correctly linked to your school.
Use the Copy & Share button to post your link on social media, in newsletters, or in emails, and click Preview Website to see how your site appears to families.
2. Customize Your Parent Website
The site begins with a default paragraph explaining what the holiday shop is and what children can expect. Since every school’s event is unique, you can easily edit this paragraph to reflect your specific details, such as:
- Add Dates: Let parents know when your shop will be open. You can also add a detailed daily shopping schedule under “Sales Schedule” section below.
- Event Details: Include the location, volunteer hours, or family shopping times.
- Special Highlights: Mention raffles, bake sales, or other fun activities.
- Volunteers: Recruit additional volunteers and thank your helpers.
- Reminders: Highlight the educational and emotional value of the shop.
- Thank You Messages: Show appreciation to your school community.
This customizable section helps engage parents and generate excitement for your event.
3. Help & Questions for Parents
This section provides contact information for parents who have questions. You can personalize this message or use the default version, which directs families to your fundraising team for assistance.
4. Grades & Classrooms
Enter your school’s grades and/or classroom or teacher names in this section. This list appears when parents purchase gift certificates, allowing them to select their child’s grade or class during checkout. The information you provide here also determines how gift certificates are labeled, printed, and organized within both the Chairperson Portal and the App.
You can make this as detailed as you wish—listing by grade and teacher (e.g., 2nd – Mrs. Smith) or just by grade (e.g., 2nd Grade). If no list is created, gift certificates will default to an alphabetical list of all students for the entire school.
Sales Schedule
You can create and manage your daily shopping schedule under “Sales Schedule” in the Chairperson Portal. This section allows you to list when each grade or class will shop during your Holiday Shop. Once added, the schedule automatically appears on your school’s Parent Website so families know when their child will visit the shop.
To build your schedule, simply select the sale date, add start and end times, and choose the grade(s), classroom(s), or shopping group for each session. You can also include short notes—like reminders or special instructions—that will display on the parent-facing schedule.
If you don’t see certain grades or classrooms listed, make sure they’ve been added under the Grades & Classrooms tab first. You can also select “Other” to create custom shopping groups if your school uses a different format.
This feature helps keep your event organized and ensures parents and volunteers know when each group is scheduled to shop.
